CultureRoad: Cultural Diversity for Included & Equitable CCAM
🗺️ Project Overview
CultureRoad aims to develop innovative methodologies to ensure the equitable deployment of Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) services. By integrating diversity into CCAM planning across different cultural and geographical contexts, the project seeks to enhance societal acceptance while promoting safe, efficient, and sustainable mobility.
The project demonstrates its holistic approach in five diverse sites:
- Barcelona (Catalonia)
- Karlsruhe (Germany)
- Eilat (Israel)
- Ljubljana (Slovenia)
- West Midlands & Oxfordshire (UK)
🎯 Specific Objectives
Inclusivity
Unveiling the "cultural veil" to understand diverse needs and expectations for CCAM services.
Co-Design
Developing a toolkit for participative design of transport systems, validated in 8 demonstration sites.
💡 Methodology
Participatory Approach
We adopt a participatory co-creation framework involving all stakeholders (citizens, industry, authorities) in interviews, workshops, and focus groups. This ensures that deployment plans meet actual mobility needs and gain societal acceptance.
Five-Pointed Star Rating System
A unique rating system designed to evaluate the equity of CCAM systems. It measures performance across five pillars:
- Safety
- Inclusivity
- User Acceptance
- Network Readiness
- Psychological Factors
This system guides the development of tailored planning tools and adaptable deployment roadmaps, ensuring no one is left behind in the transition to automated mobility.
